Viva La Vintage's chief goal is to provide excellent vintage clothing and collectibles. We do not make habit of purchasing anything with obvious "problems". You will find most items in Excellent to Very Good used condition. It is important to keep in mind that even a vintage item in Excellent condition is NOT new. We have created the guide below for you to clearly see how we grade our items. We suggest treating all vintage clothing with gentle care in order to best prolong the garments life. When determining an items rating we take into consideration many variables which include, but are not limited to:
- Fabric condition
- Items overall construction
- Stains or spots
- Holes, snags or tears
- Condition & completeness of finishing details such as zippers, bead work, appliques etc.
- Forecast of items remaining wearabliity and lifetime
- Completeness of item
- Presence of chips, cracks or crazing
- Paint or design loss
- Effect on usability due to age and forecast of remaining lifetime of item.
Item is in as good as condition as when it was brand new.
An exceptionally cared for item in excellent used condition with very little sign of wear.
A well cared for item in very good used condition. Slightly more signs of wear from use or more significant wear that is difficult to see unless looked for and/or is not visible when worn. Examples include but are not limited to: staining on inside linings, a small spot or snag that is not easily detected or on an item that would otherwise be considered excellent but for the small flaw.
There are very few items of this quality on our site, but occasionally one will be offered. These items will have more wear and sometimes more obvious spots or damage that are present, but the garment is still wearable. Examples include but are not limited to: visible stains, spots, snags, broken zippers, possible repair or mend work.
All items are checked for condition 3 separate times. Once when aquired, again when measured and photographed and once more when packaged for shipment upon purchase. We take great care in making sure the item is in as stated condition when shipped. Occasionally items may differ in condition then when photographed due to mishaps or problems in storage. If we find any difference in condition when packaging for you, you will be notified ASAP. At that time you will be given the choice of canceling your purchase or purchasing the item at a discounted price. We value our clients and would not risk sending out an item in less than expected condition. We know how disappointing that can be and want you to be happy with your purchase.
